The Ifflinger Schloss, located in the municipality of Fridingen an der Donau, is a residential tower castle with a rich history. It was constructed around the year 1330 by Heinrich von Hohenberg, complete with an enclosure and a moat. This historical structure offers a glimpse into the architectural styles and defensive strategies of the Middle Ages.
The Ifflinger Schloss underwent a significant renovation starting in 1977. During this process, a Gothic window band was discovered in the former main room, adding another layer to the castle's historical charm. In 1987, the local history museum, which was founded in 1974, moved into new rooms within the castle. This move allowed the museum to showcase the castle's history and architecture to the public.
