Since 1986, the Stadtmuseum Hofgeismar has been housed in four buildings at Petriplatz. The front building, built around 1800/1820, has a rich history, having served as a casino and officer's residence for the Dragoon Regiment after 1875.
The Judaica department of the Stadtmuseum Hofgeismar holds significant importance in Hesse, being the second most important after the collection of the Jewish Museum in Frankfurt am Main. It offers a unique insight into Jewish history and culture.
