Museum De Schilpen is housed in a 16th century monumental building. The museum illustrates the history of grocery stores and living and working in Maasland in the 19th and 20th centuries. It features a shop and a house, a warehouse and a small rentier house. The store still has the original decoration from the early 20th century. The room upstairs is used to illustrate the history of the village of Maasland and the basement houses an exhibition on butter and cheese making. In the attic tools of artisans and peasants and textiles are exhibited.
