The Museu Europeu d'Art Modern (MEAM) in Barcelona offers a refreshing take on contemporary figurative art. Housed in a beautifully restored 18th-century palace, the museum's setting enhances the viewing experience. Visitors often praise the high quality and diversity of the artworks on display, which range from paintings to sculptures, all created by living artists.

The museum's collection is frequently updated, ensuring that repeat visitors will often find new pieces to admire. Many guests appreciate the museum's focus on figurative art, which provides a contrast to the abstract styles often seen in other contemporary art museums. The annual painting and sculpture competitions hosted by the museum also add to its appeal, showcasing emerging talent alongside established artists.

While the MEAM receives overwhelmingly positive reviews, some visitors note that the museum is relatively small and can be explored thoroughly in about an hour. A few guests mention that the entrance fee might seem a bit high for the size of the collection, though most find the experience worth the cost.

The museum's location in the Born district is another plus, allowing visitors to easily combine their visit with exploring other attractions in the area. Staff members are generally described as friendly and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall experience.

Overall, the Museu Europeu d'Art Modern MEAM offers a well-curated, intimate look at contemporary figurative art in a beautiful setting. It's particularly recommended for those who appreciate realistic art styles and are looking for a less crowded, more focused art experience in Barcelona.

The MEAM was a really nice museum. It’s not really that large but It holds a nice collection of modern art. It well exceeded our expectations. Situated close to Museu Picasso, it provided a nice change to his works (which are of course also great!). The building that houses the Museu Europeu d'Art Modern is a former villa, which was interesting in itself. However the real gems are inside of it, with both very interesting permanent and temporary exhibits of contemporary figurative art. Recommended for sure!
