The Museo Minero de Andorra-Sierra de Arcos, more commonly known as MWINAS, is a museum situated in the Spanish municipality of Andorra, within the province of Teruel, in the autonomous community of Aragon. This museum offers a unique and dynamic space for visitors, with a focus on the history and impact of coal mining in the region.
The museum boasts a rich collection of photographs, plans, models, tools, and items that provide insight into the challenging and often unknown profession of mining. This collection is continually growing, thanks to the work of a group of volunteers, retired miners, who are responsible for locating and restoring the pieces.
The museum is divided into two main spaces: the San Juan Mine, which houses the headquarters, the visitor center, and the main exhibition area, and an Interpretation Space, which is the restored surface of two open-pit mines. This layout provides a comprehensive view of the history of this key sector of our economy.
