The Museo Diocesano "Aurelio Marena" is a significant cultural institution in the region, established between 1969 and 1970. The Museo Diocesano "Aurelio Marena" is situated in the former episcopal seminary attached to the Church of San Francesco della Scarpa. The museum is spread over two levels and houses over 2500 pieces, making it the largest diocesan museum in the South. Among the many treasures housed in the Museo Diocesano "Aurelio Marena", a wooden icon depicting the Virgin by a Byzantine author dating back to the 12th century and a crucifix from the 14th century Umbrian school are of particular interest.
