This collection consists of archaeological and epigraphic artifacts. The second collection is the "Museo del Tesoro della Cattedrale", which was started in the 1960s by Don Angelo Luigi Stoppa. This collection consists of sacred art works from the parishes of the diocese.
The museum is located in the east wing of the cathedral's canonica. It is spread over two levels and consists of eleven rooms. These rooms house works from the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta and other churches in the diocesan territory.
The museum exhibits a variety of artifacts and works of art. These include statues from the ancient Romanesque baptistery, numismatic collections from the cathedral chapter, sacred furnishings from the 15th century, sacred vestments from the 16th and 17th centuries, wooden statues, and ancient illuminated codes with liturgical texts.
