The Museo diocesano d'arte sacra di Susa is part of a larger cultural project of the Diocese of Susa. This project also includes the Diocesan Cultural Center and the Diocesan Historical Library-Archive. These institutions work together to manage, protect, and enhance the heritage collected and preserved by the diocese, as well as the many testimonies of faith and art belonging to the parishes of the Susa Valley.
The Museo diocesano d'arte sacra di Susa is housed in five rooms of the Rectory, spread over two floors. The museum is adjacent to the church of Madonna del Ponte, a notable Baroque monument of the city. The museum's collection includes the Treasure of the Cathedral (7th - 20th century) and the church of Madonna del Ponte.
In addition to its collection of sacred art, the Museo diocesano d'arte sacra di Susa also takes care of the conservation of ancient documents. One such document is the Breviary of San Michele della Chiusa from 1315, which was reacquired on the market by a wealthy donor after the dispersion of the library of the Sacra di San Michele at the beginning of the 19th century.
