The Museo della Bilancia, located in Campogalliano in the province of Modena, is a technological and industrial museum. It was inaugurated in 1989 and is part of a pioneering production territory that has been creating measurement systems since 1860. The museum is a national documentation center on the theme of the balance since 1991.
The Museo della Bilancia houses a collection of over 200 weight and measurement instruments. In addition to this, there are approximately 1200 more instruments and all the library and archival heritage that can be viewed upon request in the orderly deposit. This provides a comprehensive insight into the history and development of measurement systems.
The Museo della Bilancia offers interactive experiences to its visitors. One such experience is the "Labyrinth of phenomena" where visitors can weigh themselves and see their weight not only on Earth, but also in simulated gravity conditions on the Moon and Jupiter. This unique experience provides a fun and educational way to understand the concept of weight and gravity.
