The Museo del Niño Rural was established by Carlos Leyton, a teacher from the rural school of Ciruelos. The museum, which began as a collection in 1986, was inaugurated in its own building in 2009. This gives visitors an insight into the dedication and passion that went into the creation of the museum.
The Museo del Niño Rural houses a variety of local craft pieces that were created by local indigenous people, as well as some artifacts used by post-Hispanic settlers. The museum boasts a collection of approximately 850 objects, all of which were collected by the students of the school. This provides visitors with a unique opportunity to learn about the local culture and history.
