The Museo de la Revolución Democrática y Cultural, colloquially known as the Museo de Evo Morales Ayma or Museo de Orinoca, is situated in the small town of Orinoca. This town is part of the municipality of Santiago de Andamarca in the Sud Carangas Province, within the Department of Oruro. This location provides a unique cultural and historical context for the museum's exhibits.
Inaugurated on February 2, 2017, the Museo de la Revolución Democrática y Cultural is one of the largest museums in Bolivia. It showcases a variety of objects and personal belongings of President Evo Morales. Additionally, it features replicas of museum pieces enhanced with interactive technology, representing different periods in Bolivia's history, including the pre-colonial era, the republic, and the Plurinational State of Bolivia.
The Museo de la Revolución Democrática y Cultural spans an area of 10,814 square meters. It is divided into three blocks, each named after one of the three ayllus of Orinoca. The museum complex also includes administrative offices, a viewpoint, an Andean temple, a gatehouse, a ceremonial courtyard, and a gift shop. Visitors can explore around 100,000 museum pieces, the majority of which are replicas.
