The Museo de la Industria Harinera de Castilla y León, also known as MUHACALE, is a cultural institution located in Gordoncillo, León, in the autonomous community of Castilla y León, Spain. The museum was inaugurated in 2014 and offers visitors a glimpse into the region's industrial past.
The Museo de la Industria Harinera de Castilla y León is situated in an old industrial complex that spans over 3100 m². The complex includes the Marina Luz flour factory, its main warehouse or "panera", the "miller's house", and other buildings. This setting provides a unique backdrop for the museum's exhibits.
Adjacent to the Marina Luz flour factory is a two-story horizontal granary or "panera" that was built in 1937-38. The building's walls are made of earth, constructed using the technique of rammed earth and adobe, and it features a four-water roof or comb made of wood and curved tile. While the upper floor was used by the Flour Factory owners to store finished products, the ground floor was rented to the National Wheat Service. Today, the ground floor has been converted into a hall or auditorium, complete with dressing rooms and a large stage for concerts or theater performances.
