The Museo Civico "Umberto Mastroianni" is located in the city of Marino. It houses an archaeological collection of artistic objects that have been gathered from the municipal territory since 1904. The museum was inaugurated in 2000 in the premises of the former Santa Lucia church.
The most significant archaeological site in the territory is the Mithraeum of Marino, which was discovered in 1962 in Via Borgo Stazione. This is a frescoed Mithraeum, a place of worship dedicated to the god Mithras, dating back to the 2nd century AD. It is in an exceptional state of conservation.
The museum preserves artifacts from the Roman era that were found in the territory. It also houses fragments of the decoration of the church of Santa Lucia, including fragments of an 11th-century marble slab, fragments of marble floor slabs, and ornamental components of a pointed window and a rose window.
