Museo Civico di Storia Naturale di Comiso

The museum is divided into a paleontological and zoological section, showcasing a rich cultural and scientific heritage. It houses over 30,000 fossil specimens from various geological eras, numerous zoological preparations, about 2000 naturalized terrestrial and marine animals, various osteological preparations, and the most significant cetological collection in southern Italy.

The G. Insacco Collection and Other Donations

The museum is home to over 10,000 fossil specimens that belong to the private paleontological collection "G. Insacco". Additionally, other fossil and zoological specimens have been recovered following missions carried out by the museum staff, or donated by various benefactor companies or private collectors.
