The Museo archeologico di Teanum Sidicinum is an archaeological museum situated in the town of Teano, within the province of Caserta, in the Campania region of Italy. This museum is a significant destination for those interested in archaeology and the history of the region.
The exhibition at the Museo archeologico di Teanum Sidicinum is spread across seven rooms. Visitors are taken on a chronological and thematic journey that spans three millennia of history. This layout allows for a comprehensive understanding of the region's historical timeline and the evolution of its cultures.
The museum houses a variety of artifacts, including a mosaic with the oldest known depiction of the Epiphany from 375 AD. Other items include votive objects found in sanctuaries, primarily from the sacred area in Loreto, statuettes, pottery, miniature ceramics, and ex-voto depicting animals and products of the earth. These were derived from the sanctuary of the village in Fondo Ruozzo, which was frequented from the archaic period, through the Hannibalic wars, to the Sillana age. The museum also displays funerary outfits from necropolises, both from villages and towns, dating from the end of the 6th century BC to the Roman imperial age.
