The Matisse Museum (Museé Matisse) is a museum in Nice that is devoted to the French painter, draughtsman, printmaker, and sculptor Henri Matisse. This Matisse Museum holds one of the largest collection of Matisse in the world, tracing his artistic beginnings as well as his evolution through his last works. Matisse donated many of the works to the museum himself, as he lived and worked in Nice from 1917 to 1954. The collection of the Matisse Museum in Nice contains 68 paintings and gouaches, 200+ drawings, 200+ prints, 95 photos, 57 sculptures and 14 books illustrated by Matisse, as well as various objects that belonged to the painter.

    Matisse museum was very disappointing, very few Matisse paintings, a lot of Agnes Thurnauer. Staff unfortunately rather rude.
