The musée du Veinazès is an ethnographic museum situated in Lacapelle-del-Fraisse, a region in the south west of the Cantal department in France. This museum offers a unique insight into the rural life of the 20th century in the former canton of Montsalvy.
The museum exhibits a variety of rural workshops, agricultural tools and machines such as tractors, engines, and locomobiles. These exhibits come to life during the visit, providing an interactive experience. Additionally, the museum showcases craft workshops including carpentry, forge, and clog making, as well as shops like Au Petit Bazar - Souvenirs d'Auvergne. Visitors can also explore a collection of folk art, featuring raw, naive, and singular pieces.
The museum is open to the public in April, May, June, and September on Wednesdays, Fridays, Sundays, and public holidays from 14:00. During the months of July and August, the museum is open every afternoon from 14:00. Visitors should allow approximately 1h30 for the visit.
