Musée Ardouin and its collection

Musée Ardouin

Constructed in 1580 by Pierre Garrigues, a wealthy pastel merchant, the Ardouin Hotel boasts of brick facades and remarkable mullioned windows. The building has undergone renovations over the years, preserving its historical charm. A unique feature of the hotel is the spiral staircase of the octagonal tower, which leads to a terrace offering panoramic views of the city.

Exhibitions at the Ardouin Museum

The museum within the Ardouin Hotel, which opened in 1995 with just one room, has expanded over the years and now spans four levels. Two of these levels have been dedicated to the permanent exhibition 'Barbarians in Southern Gaul' since 2011. This exhibition showcases the findings from the excavations of the necropolis from the time of the Visigoths and the Franks, dating back to the 5th and 8th centuries.
