The Municipal Gallery in Lenbach House is a museum in Munich that is housed in the former villa of the German painter Franz von Lenbach, built between 1887 and 1891. The museum primarily displays work by painters that worked in Munich in the 18th and 19th centuries. The paintings of the Münchner Schule from the 19th century are housed in the northern wing of the museum. Furthermore, the collection includes work by members of the Münchner Sezession, founded in 1892 and the art movement New Objectivity (1918-1933). But the Lenbachhaus has become especially famous for its unique collection of works by the artists' group Der Blaue Reiter.

The Municipal Gallery in Lenbach House, located in Munich, Germany, is a well-regarded art museum housed in a beautiful villa. Visitors appreciate the diverse collection of 19th and 20th-century art, with a focus on Munich painters and the Blue Rider group. The museum's architecture, a restored 19th-century mansion, adds to the overall experience. Many reviewers praise the temporary exhibitions, which are often thought-provoking and well-curated. The permanent collection features works by notable artists such as Wassily Kandinsky, Franz Marc, and Gabriele Münter. Some visitors note that the museum is not as crowded as other Munich attractions, allowing for a more relaxed viewing experience. The garden surrounding the villa is also mentioned as a pleasant spot to relax. On the downside, a few reviewers mention that the information provided could be more extensive, particularly for non-German speakers. Additionally, some find the entry fee a bit high compared to other museums in the city. Despite these minor criticisms, the Municipal Gallery in Lenbach House is generally considered a worthwhile destination for art enthusiasts visiting Munich.
