The Mid-Suffolk Light Railway Museum, affectionately known as 'The Middy', provides a window in time on transport in the early part of the 20th Century. The museum charts the life and death of the railway, including working steam and diesel locomotives and Victorian carriages of the era, and stations/halts with restored buildings that were on the original line. There is an extensive archive of photographs, documents and artefacts available to view on request. Event days are usually themed around aspect of the railway's life and history. The museum also hosts an exhibition dedicated to the 34th US Bomb Group, that were based at Mendlesham during WW2.

This year's Santa Specials are on December 7th, 13th, 14th, 20th, 21st and 22nd and are ticket only, purchased through the web-site.
We are open on New Year's Day, 10.30am-3.30pm, when we will be running the trains and also have a vintage lights display, see web-site for more details.
We will then be closed until Easter when we will be open on Easter Sunday and Monday to start off the new season in style.
