In 2020, the Mathers Museum underwent a significant change. It officially merged with the Glenn A. Black Laboratory of Archaeology, forming the new Indiana University Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology (IUMAA). The museum, located at 416 North Indiana Avenue, was closed for renovations following the merger. It is scheduled to reopen in 2023, offering a refreshed and expanded experience for visitors.
