Marazion Museum is located on the ground floor of the historic (listed) town hall in Marazion. Established in 1992 the museum houses a host of artefacts relating to Marazion's history and to daily life in Marazion over the last 200 years. There is a jail cell with the original jail door from the 1800s (the building originally housed two "lock-ups" for use by the town constables), a Cornish range (forerunner of modern range cookers), lantern from the Civil War, mining artefacts, cannonballs, blacksmith and wheelwrights, Victorian fireman's helmet, as well as an exhibition relating to the battleship HMS Warspite that ended her days on Marazion beach. A good number of items, including old telephones and typewriters are free to touch - show children how to "dial a number". If your family lived in Marazion we can also help with genealogical records.
