The MAP (Museum of White Weapons and Parchments) was inaugurated in 2010 and is located on the second floor of the Milesi palace in Gromo, Bergamo. This museum showcases how white weapons were forged and traded in the 15th and 16th centuries, produced in the forges present in the village once called 'the small Toledo'. The museum is open in the afternoons of every weekend and every day during the summer period, with free admission.
The museum consists of two rooms, both displaying parchments and registers dated between 1323 and 1800. Many of these documents come from the Valerio Milesi Donation, which the owner of the palace had given to the municipal administration. These documents provide a rich historical context and contribute to the unique setup of the museum.
The museum displays various white weapons produced in Gromo in the 15th and 16th centuries. These include halberds, ronconi, and pikes, which were made in local forges. The museum also exhibits a map that reproduces the village before 1666, the year when a disastrous flood destroyed all work activities related to the manufacture of weapons.
