The Museum of Contemporary Art of Campinas, also known as José Pancetti, is a public municipal institution. It operates under the Secretary of Culture and Tourism and is primarily focused on the conservation, study, and dissemination of Brazilian contemporary art. This makes it a significant cultural hub in the region, offering visitors a chance to explore and understand the evolution and diversity of Brazilian contemporary art.
The MACC is conveniently located in a building annexed to the Palácio dos Jequitibás, beneath the Municipal Library "Ernesto Manoel Zink" on Benjamin Constant Avenue. This central location in Campinas, a municipality in the interior of the state of São Paulo, Brazil, makes it easily accessible for tourists and locals alike.
The MACC houses an impressive collection of approximately 660 pieces. This includes a diverse range of paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, and installations from important Brazilian artists. In addition to its permanent collection, the museum also hosts temporary exhibitions and a variety of educational and cultural activities, providing a comprehensive cultural experience for its visitors.
