Archaeological Finds at the Museum

The museum exhibits archaeological finds from the settlements in the area of Sant'Antioco. These artifacts date back to the Neolithic and Nuragic civilizations. Many materials testify to the Phoenician culture, which had its oldest settlement in Sardinia right in Sant'Antioco, in the ancient Sulki.

Roman Civilization Section

The last section of the museum is dedicated to the Roman civilization, which settled in the area from the 3rd century BC. On display are funeral outfits and objects used in daily life, such as pots and dishes.

The MAB - Museo Archeologico Ferruccio Barreca in Sant'Antioco, Italy, offers visitors a comprehensive look into the rich archaeological history of the region. The museum houses a significant collection of artifacts from the Phoenician, Punic, and Roman periods, providing insight into the island's ancient past.

Visitors appreciate the well-organized exhibits that showcase various aspects of daily life, religious practices, and burial customs of the ancient inhabitants. The Tophet, an ancient Phoenician-Punic sanctuary, is particularly noteworthy and often mentioned as a highlight.

The museum's strengths lie in its informative displays and the quality of the preserved artifacts. Many visitors find the collections to be extensive and well-presented, offering a good overview of the area's archaeological importance.

However, some visitors note that the museum could benefit from more detailed explanations in languages other than Italian, which might limit the experience for international tourists.
