Litunet is a part of the Ryfylkemuseet and is situated in the Suldal municipality. It is perched high on the southern side of Hylsfjorden, approximately 285 meters above sea level. The distinctive courtyard of Litunet, filled with numerous old buildings, was granted protection by the Directorate for Cultural Heritage in 1973. This was done to preserve the historical and architectural value of the site. In 2009, the farm was acquired by the public, further ensuring its preservation for future generations.
The farmyard of Litunet is home to 13 buildings dating back to the 1700s and 1800s. These buildings house a vast collection of historical objects, providing a glimpse into the past. Visitors can explore these buildings and the artifacts they contain, offering a unique opportunity to learn about the history and culture of the region.
