Latvian Fire Fighting Museum and its collection

The Latvian Fire Fighting Museum is housed in an Art Nouveau building from 1912, designed by architect Reinhold Schmeling. The exhibition on the first floor illustrates the development of fire fighting in Latvia through helmets, tools, uniforms, hoses, pumps and a firefighting vehicle called 'Chevrolet Six'. The second floor features other objects that illustrate the development of fire fighting till the present day. Visitors can learn about the scientific research of the Service and the greatest fires and other catastrophies. In the Hall of Honour of Fire Fighters the names of firefighters who lost their lives are featured, as well as awards
