Langham Dome was built in 1942/42 on the end of RAF Langham in Norfolk. It used innovative technology to train anti-aircraft gunners. Long before digital virtual reality was invented, moving images projected onto the inside of the Dome taught trainees how to shoot down enemy aircraft. Following generous support from HLF and others, Langham Dome opened to the public in 2014. Visitors to Langham Dome (a Scheduled Ancient Monument) can see displays and films about the Dome and RAF Langham. They can also test their aim with an interactive dummy training gun and one of the Dome's original target films.

Langham Dome has 1 rating.
The Langham Dome, located near Holt in Norfolk, England, is a small but informative museum dedicated to World War II aviation history. Housed in a restored anti-aircraft gunnery trainer, the dome offers visitors an insight into the training of anti-aircraft gunners during the war.
The museum's strength lies in its focus on local wartime history and the preservation of the unique dome structure. Visitors often appreciate the well-maintained exhibits and the effort put into restoring the site. The volunteer staff are frequently praised for their knowledge and enthusiasm, providing context and answering questions about the displays.
However, some visitors note that the museum is quite compact, which may limit the breadth of information provided. The remote location can also be a drawback for some, as it requires a bit of planning to visit. Additionally, while the content is interesting, some reviewers mention that the presentation could be more engaging for younger visitors or those less familiar with military history.
Despite these minor drawbacks, the Langham Dome is generally regarded as a worthwhile visit for those interested in World War II history or local heritage. The museum effectively combines historical significance with educational value, offering a glimpse into a specific aspect of wartime Britain.
