I had no idea how important this beret factory had been. Or the strict technical details in the manufacture of the traditional Basque “Boina” This factory produced them almost exclusively for 100 years! Briefly, they became a very fashionable item worldwide. I was lucky to get an exclusive guide from a lady who spoke excellent English. Who was amused to point out that some of the machines were imported from near my area. Oldham, Northern England. I was fascinated!
