The Kula Botanical Garden is a 6-acre botanical garden situated in the southeastern part of Maui, Hawaii. It is nestled at 3300 feet on the spectacular slopes of Haleakala, making it an ideal location for cultivating tropical plants that thrive at high altitudes and require a cool temperature. The garden is easily accessible via the Kekaulike Highway (Highway 377) near the Kula Highway (Highway 37) junction.

Plant Collections at Kula Botanical Garden

The Kula Botanical Garden is home to approximately 2000 varieties of subtropical and tropical plants from all over the world. Each plant is labeled with its scientific name, common name, and country of origin, providing an educational experience for visitors. The garden hosts collections of Proteas, orchids, Bromeliads, as well as a collection of native Hawaiian plants, including the 'Koa' (Acacia koa) and 'Kukui' (Aleurites moluccana) trees.

Attractions at Kula Botanical Garden

In addition to its diverse plant collections, the Kula Botanical Garden also features various attractions that add to its charm. These include rock formations, a covered bridge, waterfalls, koi ponds, and an aviary. One of the newer attractions is a display of carved tikis, adding a unique cultural element to the garden.
