Klosterwald Zoo, previously known as Wildpark, is a quaint zoo nestled in Central Hesse. It is conveniently located approximately 500 meters west of the historic Arnsburg Monastery, along the route of the former B 488. This location makes it easily accessible for visitors.
Klosterwald Zoo is home to approximately 200 animals, with a focus on native species, but also includes a variety of exotic animals. Visitors can expect to see native wildlife such as fallow deer, red deer, mouflon, wild boars, and lynxes. The zoo also houses exotic animals like llamas, sika deer, alpacas, guanacos, kangaroos, prairie dogs, and raccoon dogs.
Klosterwald Zoo is open to visitors all year round, although winter opening times may be weather-dependent. For those who wish to support the zoo in a more personal way, animal sponsorships are available.
