Kingscote is a historic mansion and house museum located at Bowery Street and Bellevue Avenue in Newport, Rhode Island. The mansion, which was designed by Richard Upjohn, was built in 1839 and is a prime example of Gothic Revival architecture. As one of the first summer 'cottages' in Newport, it holds a significant place in the city's history.
Today, Kingscote stands as a National Historic Landmark (NHL) and contributes to the Bellevue Avenue Historic District, which is also recognized as an NHL. This recognition underscores the historical significance and architectural value of the mansion.
