The Killingerhaus, located at König-Adolf-Platz, is a three-story citizen's house with a magnificent gable front. This central location makes it easily accessible for tourists. The house's facade is dominated by an octagonal bay window with a hipped roof, which extends over both half-timbered upper floors and protrudes over the massive ground floor. This architectural feature adds to the house's unique charm and is a sight to behold.
Since its extensive restoration between 1981 and 1984, the Killingerhaus has been used by the tourist office and the local history museum since 1987. This makes it a hub for tourist information and a place where visitors can learn about the local history and culture.
Since 2015, the Idstein City Museum in the Killingerhaus has hosted a permanent exhibition on Ernst Töpfer. The works of this painter are displayed on two walls under the motto 'Toepfer - At eye level'. This exhibition offers tourists an opportunity to appreciate the works of a renowned artist and gain insights into his artistic style and themes.
