The Kennedy Stone House, a historical landmark, is situated in Salt Fork State Park in Guernsey County, Ohio. This house and its surrounding structures were recognized for their historical significance and were placed on the National Register on October 3, 1975. This recognition underscores the importance of the house in the local history and its preservation for future generations.
The Kennedy Stone House underwent a significant restoration process from 2000 to 2002. This was carried out by the Friends of the Kennedy Stone House Salt Fork State Park, a dedicated group of local volunteers. Today, they continue to maintain the house, which now serves as a museum, preserving its historical significance and making it accessible to the public.
The Kennedy Stone House features a central door that can be reached by a flight of stairs, leading to a small porch. The second floor of the house contains five windows, aligned directly above the windows on the first floor. The house's gabled roof is punctuated at either end by a large stone chimney, adding to its unique architectural charm.
