The Karadeniz Ereğli Museum, situated in the district of Karadeniz Ereğli in Zonguldak province, has been operating as an archaeology and ethnography museum since 1998. It is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey. The museum is housed in a historic building known as Halil Pasha Mansion.
The Karadeniz Ereğli Museum showcases a wide range of coin collections from various historical periods, including Roman, Byzantine, Abbasid, Umayyad, Artuqid, Sassanid, Seljuk, and Ottoman. In addition, the museum displays artifacts unearthed from the ancient city of Filyos and the excavations of Yassıkaya and İnönü Cave.
In the garden of the Karadeniz Ereğli Museum, visitors can find a tomb monument believed to belong to Krispos, an ancient Egyptian pantomime artist who is thought to have died in Karadeniz Ereğlisi. This monument, which is believed to have been erected in the 2nd or 3rd century, serves as an example of the altars that were erected in ancient Rome to store the ashes of the deceased or to commemorate them.
