The Kamarina Regional Archaeological Museum is situated in the vicinity of Scoglitti, in the province of Ragusa, Sicily. The museum is composed of three pavilions and seven exhibition halls, each showcasing a different aspect of the region's rich archaeological history.
Upon entering the museum, the first room you encounter is dedicated to underwater archaeology. This room houses a rich collection of artifacts that were discovered during underwater explorations conducted in the 1990s in the sea off Kamarina.
The museum showcases a variety of artifacts recovered from different shipwrecks. These include a bronze statue of the god Harpocrates, coins, weights, a collection of lamps, a chisel, a stylus, and many other finely crafted bronze objects.
The museum houses numerous artifacts that were found in the archaic necropolis of Rifriscolaro. These include a Lekythos depicting Aeneas and Anchises, various Corinthian Skyphoi and aryballoi, ointment jars, and a beautifully decorated amphora from the mid-late 6th century BC featuring scenes of armed knights and dancing maenads.
