The Jenisch House is a country house that was built in the 19th century for the Hamburg Senator Martin Johan Jenisch. The house is an example of Hanseatic lifestyle and neoclassical architecture, is located in a landscaped parks on the banks of the Elbe and houses the Museum für Kunst und Kultur an der Elbe. The house features rooms furnished with period furniture. It is a vivid example of the exquisite home decor of well-to-do Hanseatic citizens in the middle of the 19th century.
