The Iron and Steel Museum of Asturias (MUSI) is a cultural center that was inaugurated in 2006. It is situated in La Felguera, within the council of Langreo in Spain. The museum is housed in part of the former La Felguera Factory, the first major integrated iron and steel plant built in Spain in the mid-19th century.
The museum offers guided tours through the urban area of La Felguera. These tours provide insight into the process of creating the town as a housing solution for industry workers. Visitors can see various facilities such as schools, markets, a church, casinos, housing for workers and engineers, and public gardens. This is a great opportunity to understand the social and cultural history of the area.
The museum is open on Saturdays from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 18:00, and on Sundays and holidays from 10:00 to 14:00. It is conveniently located inside the Valnalón business park, which is a 10-minute walk from the Renfe station of La Felguera that connects with Oviedo and Avilés. It is also a 5-minute walk from the old FEVE station that connects with Gijón. Additionally, it is close to bus stops that connect with the rest of the Nalón valley, Oviedo, and Gijón. The distance by vehicle to Oviedo and Gijón is approximately 20 minutes.
