In its exhibition in the 2nd Bouwhuis, the Fire Brigade Museum shows in an interactive way what the world of a firefighter looks like. Upon entering, you are drawn into the world of the firefighter and all the aspects that go with it. There is even a virtual ride with a fire engine to the fire address and on site the 'firefighters' can virtually extinguish the fire. Carrying out a fire investigation is also one of the possibilities. Young people in particular are introduced to safety awareness in a contemporary way and are brought closer to a global cultural asset in a playful way. A presentation space is available within the museum for current safety issues. The International Fire Brigade Museum is not just a museum that only exhibits its collection, but a museum with a clear message towards safety awareness, disaster control and the importance of this. The Rijssens Museum is located on the same museum grounds. Old Dutch masters, a revolutionary shuttle, jute, an Amsterdam standing clock, Delft pottery and an interactive art gallery? There is a connection between them and that is explained by the Rijssens Museum. Located in the ancient manor house de Oosterhof, within a double moat on an island on the Kasteellaan, this local museum tells the remarkable story of the oldest city in Twente.
