Elm Springs is a historic two-story, brick house that was built in 1837. It is designed in the Greek Revival style and is located just outside Columbia, Tennessee, United States. This historic site offers a glimpse into the architectural style of the period and the history of the area.
Elm Springs was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986, highlighting its significance in American history. Since 1992, it has served as the headquarters for the Sons of Confederate Veterans, a historical preservation organization.
During the Civil War, Elm Springs was saved from destruction by Confederate troops. The Union Army had set fires to important buildings as a defensive tactic, but the Confederate troops extinguished the fires at Elm Springs, preserving this historic site for future generations.
