Historic Blenheim is a Greek Revival style brick farmhouse built around 1859, located in the City of Fairfax, Virginia. During the American Civil War, the house and its surrounding grounds were often used by Union soldiers as a part of a reserve hospital system. This historical interaction is evident in the more than 115 inscriptions of words and pictures made by these soldiers on the walls of the first and second floors, as well as the attic. In recognition of its historical significance, Blenheim was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.
Adjacent to Historic Blenheim is the Civil War Interpretive Center, which opened in 2008. The Center's mission is to enhance the educational experience of the site for visitors. Inside the Interpretive Center, a gallery contains displays that contextualize the Union soldiers who stayed at Blenheim within the larger framework of the American Civil War. As the second floor and the attic of the house are not accessible to the public, the Center hosts an exact replica of two-thirds of Blenheim's attic, complete with life-sized images of the inscriptions left by the soldiers.

Historic Blenheim and the Civil War Interpretive Center offers visitors an insightful look into the American Civil War era. Located in Fairfax, Virginia, this site combines a preserved 1859 house with a modern interpretive center. The main attraction is the extensive collection of Civil War soldier graffiti found inside the historic Blenheim house, providing a rare and personal glimpse into the lives of soldiers who occupied the building during the war.
The interpretive center complements the historic house with informative exhibits, artifacts, and interactive displays that help contextualize the graffiti and the broader Civil War history of the Fairfax area. Visitors often appreciate the well-organized presentations and the knowledgeable staff who provide guided tours.
While the museum offers a focused and educational experience, some visitors note that it's a relatively small site, which may not require an extended visit. The lack of furnished rooms in the historic house is occasionally mentioned as a drawback, though this is intentional to preserve and display the graffiti.
