The Hayashibara Museum of Art, owned by the Hayashibara Group, is situated at 2-7-15 Marunouchi, Kita-ku, in Okayama. The museum is located on the site of a former guest house by the inner moat of Okayama Castle, providing a unique historical context to the museum's location.
The Hayashibara Museum of Art is home to approximately 10,000 items from the personal collection of Mr. Hayashibara. This includes a diverse range of artifacts such as swords, armors, and pottery, as well as Noh costumes, furniture, paintings, and lacquers from the Ikeda clan.
The Hayashibara Museum of Art is home to 26 important cultural properties and 3 national treasures. Among these are a 14th-century indigo dō-maru samurai armor used by a high-ranking samurai and many of the Bizen swords and pottery, which are also considered national treasures.
