Founding of Hallen für Neue Kunst

The Hallen für Neue Kunst was founded and established in 1982/83 by the artist Urs Raussmüller. His vision was to create a permanent space for significant, predominantly large-scale works by American and European artists, providing a unique platform for these creations.

Closure of Hallen für Neue Kunst

The Hallen für Neue Kunst has been closed since January 2014. The museum was forced to shut down following a lengthy 10-year lawsuit that drained its resources. Unfortunately, there are no plans to reopen the museum in the future.
