The Golden Gate Railroad Museum (GGRM) is a non-profit organization located in California. The museum is dedicated to preserving steam and passenger railroad equipment and interpreting local railroad history. This dedication to preservation and interpretation provides visitors with a unique opportunity to learn about the history of railroads in the area and see historical railroad equipment up close.
Originally located in Hunters Point, the Golden Gate Railroad Museum moved its extensive collection of 12 locomotives and over 25 pieces of rolling stock to Sunol, California. Sunol is home to the Niles Canyon Railway, which is operated by the Pacific Locomotive Association (PLA). This move allowed the museum to continue its mission of preserving and interpreting railroad history in a new location.
