P. J. Hoffmaster State Park is a public recreation area situated on the shores of Lake Michigan. It is located five miles north of Grand Haven at the southwest corner of Norton Shores, in Muskegon County, and the northwest corner of Spring Lake Township, in Ottawa County, in Michigan. This location makes it a convenient destination for tourists visiting the area.
The state park spans 1,200 acres (490 ha) of land, which includes three miles (4.8 km) of sand beach on the lake. This vast area provides ample space for various outdoor activities and offers a beautiful beach for relaxation and enjoyment.
The Gillette Sand Dune Visitor Center within the park offers interactive exhibits related to the sand dune ecosystem. In addition to this, the center houses live animals and an auditorium, and offers a variety of nature programs for the public. This provides a unique opportunity for visitors to learn about the local ecosystem and engage in educational activities.
