One of the key attractions of the Gifu City Science Museum is its planetarium. The planetarium boasts a dome of approximately 20 meters in diameter and can accommodate up to 221 visitors. The shows, which last between 50 minutes and one hour, are divided into two parts. The first half of the show is dedicated to explaining the night sky for that day, while the second half delves into a seasonally or thematically relevant topic.
The Gifu City Science Museum also offers a unique opportunity for visitors to learn about the afternoon and nighttime sky through a large telescope located on the roof of the museum. This event is provided as a one-class course for Nagaragawa College. The viewing begins at 7:00pm and lasts for two hours. The cost is 100yen for those up to Junior High School, and 300yen for adults, making it an affordable and educational experience.
