The German Games Museum, located in Chemnitz, is managed by the registered association Deutsches SPIELEmuseum e.V. This association has been in existence since 1986, making it a long-standing institution in the city.

Collection at the German Games Museum

The German Games Museum boasts a collection of 35,000 games from all over the world, spanning the last ten centuries. In addition to this, the museum also houses 1,500 old and new books of game literature, catalogs, documents, and other game-related objects, graphics, and posters.

Interactive Games Room at the Museum

Apart from the permanent and changing special exhibitions, the German Games Museum also features a games room. This room is equipped with 2,700 board games and a variety of electronic games, including Wii, DSi, Xbox 360, PS2, and PS3.
