Galleria Storica Civici Pompieri Valchiavenna

The Galleria storica dei civici pompieri della Valchiavenna is a museum located in Chiavenna. It showcases historical artifacts and motor vehicles from all over Italy that are related to firefighting. The collection includes equipment, documents, and other materials that trace the history of firefighting in Valchiavenna from its inception in the mid-19th century to the present day.

Relocation of the Museum

In 2006, the museum was relocated to the former premises of the local Professional Mechanical Institute, provided by the Chiavenna municipal administration. The new location consists of three warehouses and related appurtenances, including a small late 19th-century building that had been the headquarters of the Chiavenna civic fire brigade. This move allowed the museum to display larger items, including some of historical significance.
