The Gaillac Museum of Fine Arts, a French art museum, is situated in the historic Foucaud Castle in Gaillac, Tarn. This location has been its home since 1934, providing a unique setting for the museum's collection.
In 1994, the municipality undertook a significant reorganization of the museum. Now, it offers two floors dedicated to permanent exhibitions and additional spaces for temporary exhibitions. This allows for a diverse and ever-changing display of art.
The museum is home to a collection of works by the painter Firmin Salabert, a student of Ingres. Salabert generously donated his paintings to the city, and they now form a significant part of the museum's collection.
In addition to Firmin Salabert's works, the museum also showcases pieces from other local artists. These include Henri Loubat, Charles Escot, Raymond Tournon (father and son), Gaston Durel, and Joseph Espalioux. Their works contribute to the rich diversity of the museum's collection.
