The Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Ehrenhalle, located in Freyburg (Unstrut), was originally established as a museum dedicated to Friedrich Ludwig Jahn. Today, it serves as a venue for festive events and scientific conferences, and also hosts the member meetings of the Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Gesellschaft e.V. The building is protected as a historical monument, adding to its cultural and historical significance.
Despite its otherwise unadorned interior, the hall houses a life-size bronze statue of Friedrich Ludwig Jahn. This statue, created by Erdmann Encke (1843–1896), originally stood on the first gymnastics field in the Berlin Hasenheide, adding a significant piece of history to the hall.
The museum building was erected and inaugurated in 1903, following collections from the German Gymnastics Federation among its members. Initially, the Jahn statue was placed in the apse of the building, flanked by figures of Bismarck and Wilhelm II (1859–1941), adding a historical context to the statue's placement.
